Bee Post - Crich Recreation Ground
Bee Post - Crich Recreation Ground
Crich Parish Council have installed a Bee Post on the Recreation Ground
The Bee Post will provide a nesting site for solitary bees.
In Britain we have around 270 species of bee, just under 250 of which are solitary bees. These bees can be amazingly effective pollinators and as the name suggests tend not to live in colonies like bumblebees and honey bees.
As solitary bees don't have a queen, hive or honey to protect, they are non-aggressive, meaning they are safe around children and pets.
