Leashaw landslip update Issue 15

Leashaw landslip update Issue 15

16 August 2024

The geotechnical ground investigations have been underway with initial ground samples received from site and under analysis. It's going well and on track, with more specific material testing now being undertaken. Derbyshire CC consultants, Jacobs, are expecting the final report to be with them by mid-September and will then overlay the results of the ground investigations with the ongoing preferred design solution works they're continuing to develop.

Alongside the ongoing ground monitoring, monthly monitoring of the ground water levels in the area will be carried out.

Over the coming months, Derbyshire CC should therefore have confirmation on the final repair solution design, backed up by ground condition evidence, and with that a more definitive statement of the funding required for the works.

Derbyshire CC have written to the new Mayor for the East Midlands Combined County Authority, to ask for financial support for this issue. They have yet to receive a reply, but will continue to lobby both the Mayor and the Government for the need for funding for this road, and others in the county.

They've also been liaising with the utilities regarding some drainage repairs, to the gully system, they need to carry out on the road. These are currently pencilled in for September, and you can follow/check this on one.network in terms of exact timings once confirmed.
